Introduction of Teacher

Luan Quach began his journey in fine arts at the young age of 9. First as a student of Ly Khac Nhu, a world-renowned Chinese watercolor artist from Southeast Asia, Luan continued receiving training from various styles of artists throughout his childhood gaining a solid foundation in drawing, sketching, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and oil painting.

Currently, Luan has regained full focus towards commissioned artwork, exhibitions, and holding workshops. With extensive trial and research, Luan’s specialty now lies in portrait painting using an oil dry brush technique. His art is done both in realism and impressionism styles, aiming to create timeless portraits with a modern twist.

In 2016 and 2017, Luan continuously received the Certificates of Merit from Canadian Portrait Competition. He is now a juried member of Portrait Society of Canada.
